when emotions set in

Hip-hop mogul Damon Dash has claimed that he had faith in Jay-Z from early on and always predicted that he would become one of the most famous rappers in the world.

Damon and Jay used to be best buddies back in the day when they co-founded Rocafella Records, however, their close relationship ended when they fell out. Jay subsequently became the president of Def Jam Records and Damon sold his share of Rocafella to Def Jam.

With the 15th anniversary of Jay's debut album 'Reasonable Doubt' approaching, Damon sat down with VH1 to talk about how he stuck with Jay even when people doubted his rapping abilities. "Because we believed in ['Reasonable Doubt'] so much, you couldn't even tell me that it wasn't going to be the best album that was ever made," Damon told VH1.

"I said 'he will be the greatest rapper of all time.' I said that 15 years ago not to put it all on me. It was a lot of fighting. It was at a time when people told me he was the worst rapper."

Despite no longer being friends, Damon explains that he and Jay will always have business ties. "No matter what, we're still in business together because, me, Biggs and Jay still own 'Reasonable Doubt.'"
