jet fuel abuser....
Monday, the announcement in Paris of a supersonic business aircraft that promises to eclipse the Aerion, the $80m planned business jet that still has no builder.
Hypermach Aerospace Industries claims the SonicStar will fly from Paris to New York in 1 hour 45 minutes, and around the world in just five hours.
To do this it will have to solve the problem of an engine capable of Mach 3.5 or so. It will also have to have a pretty robust business plan, including a builder for the aircraft.
Its chairman and chief executive, Richard Lugg, has a background in engines. And its chief operations and technology officer, Bernard Rousset, has worked on Airbus projects.
That’s a start. The fact that supersonic flight is banned over many countries, including the US, seems almost a detail by comparison with those challenges
